Twelve early-career conservationists from four range states have joined this year's Young Conservation Leaders cohort.
Participants spend part of the year attached to an existing field programme and part working on a project of their own design, supported by a mentor.

Several alumni of previous cohorts now lead field teams of their own, which was always the point of the programme.
